ProTributeBands.com has published “73 Tribute Band and Live Music Statistics for September 2026,” a sourced data resource released September 30, 2026, for the people who book live entertainment, including performing arts centers, casinos, fairs, concert series, corporate event planners and wedding couples. Every figure on the page comes from the organization that produced it, carries its date, and is refreshed monthly.
The ProTributeBands live music statistics resource draws its figures from government agencies, company filings, peer-reviewed research and research firms. It includes five charts drawn by ProTributeBands.com from the published source figures, and it is built around a peer-reviewed pricing study of the tribute band sector. ProTributeBands.com connects performing arts centers, casinos, fairs, concert series, corporate event planners and wedding couples with professional tribute bands, and the full resource is available through its website, www.protributebands.com.

The centerpiece study examined 757 tribute concerts by 155 acts in 333 venues across 251 German cities from 2015 to 2019. It found that tribute ticket prices run about 11% to 15% lower while the original act still exists, all else equal, and about 9% higher when the original act is out touring (Samuel Cameron and Hendrik Sonnabend, Economics Bulletin, April 2020). The resource notes that this was one study in one country on public ticket prices, not private booking fees.
Several figures in the resource address the broader audience for the music these acts perform. Deep catalog made up 75% of all rock audio streaming in the first half of 2026 (Luminate, July 2026). Attendance at rock, folk and country concerts, comedy and similar shows rose from 15.0% to 21.2% of U.S. adults between 2017 and 2022, the only live performance category to grow (National Endowment for the Arts, August 2025). Among adults 25 to 54, Classic Rock is the No. 2 radio format with an 8.1% audience share, behind Country (Nielsen, March 2026).
The resource also documents the venues that program live entertainment. According to the data, 29% of the U.S. population attends a fair each year, and U.S. fairs drew 97.9 million visitors across 1,392 fairs in 2024 (International Association of Fairs and Expositions, September 2025). For the wedding market, only 12% of couples hire a live band for the wedding reception, while 71% hire a DJ (The Knot, May 2026).
“The classic songs tribute bands play are most of what rock fans still stream, and that is the thread running through this entire resource,” said David Victor, founder of ProTributeBands.com and a former recording and touring member of the multiplatinum band BOSTON, who vets every act listed on the site. “What I find most striking is that the peer-reviewed data shows the scarcity of the original act shapes what a tribute show is worth. When buyers understand the numbers behind live entertainment, they make better programming decisions.”
ProTributeBands.com features pre-screened national-act caliber tribute bands, cover bands and music experiences, serving event buyers across the United States and internationally. The company offers booking services for a range of event types, an artist submission platform for tribute acts seeking consideration, tribute band rankings by genre and artist, and ongoing news covering the tribute band sector. ProTributeBands.com was founded by David Victor, formerly of the multi-platinum band BOSTON.
