Ditto, the software platform for unstoppable operations, today announced that U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has awarded the company a $17 million contract through the Accelerate the Procurement and Fielding of Innovative Technologies (APFIT) program. The award funds the enterprise-wide fielding of the Ditto platform across USSOCOM, enabling real-time data sharing between humans and autonomous systems operating at the tactical edge, including in denied, degraded, intermittent, and limited (DDIL) connectivity environments.

The APFIT program, established by the FY2022 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and competitively awarded to small businesses and non-traditional defense contractors, was designed to accelerate the delivery of mission-critical capabilities to the warfighter, transitioning mature technologies from pilots into fielding and production. Ditto’s selection reflects three years of close collaboration with Special Operations Forces (SOF) end users across multiple USSOCOM components, which proved both the platform’s operational efficacy and its readiness at scale. With that proof now validated across USSOCOM, the Ditto platform is positioned to serve as a model for data-centric warfighting infrastructure across the joint force.

“Special operations don’t pause when the network drops, and neither can the data,” said Adam Fish, CEO and Co-Founder of Ditto. “That’s the entire reason Ditto exists. Crossing into enterprise fielding with the most demanding operators in the world is the clearest proof I can point to that it works where it matters most.”

As adversaries increasingly contest the electromagnetic spectrum and jam tactical networks, the assumption of a persistent connection has become a liability. Modern special operations depend on the ability to aggregate and act on fused data from a wide range of sources, across personnel, sensors, autonomous systems, and command elements, in highly dynamic and contested environments. The inability to maintain a reliable, consistent Common Operating Picture (COP) in DDIL conditions represents one of the most pressing challenges facing joint and special operations forces today.

The Ditto platform addresses this challenge directly. Unlike legacy architectures that require a persistent server or cloud connection to function, the Ditto platform operates on a peer-to-peer, server-optional architecture. Devices running Ditto sync directly with one another, sharing, resolving, and updating data in real time regardless of network availability. When connectivity is lost or restored, data converges automatically with zero data loss.

This approach removes traditional network dependencies as a single point of failure, enabling warfighters and autonomous systems alike to maintain data superiority at the tactical edge. The Ditto platform is transport agnostic ensuring continuity of operations across the full spectrum of contested network conditions.

“What drew me to serve on Ditto’s Government Advisory Board was the platform’s operational relevance to the challenges SOF faces every day,” said Rear Adm. Matthew Burns, U.S. Navy (Ret.). “In special operations, the difference between a successful mission and a failed one often comes down to who has the picture and who doesn’t. The Ditto platform is purpose-built for exactly the kind of contested environments SOF operates in.”

“Years of end-user collaboration got us here,” said Eric Hanft, SVP of Public Sector at Ditto. “USSOCOM has operated alongside the Ditto platform in demanding environments, and this award reflects their confidence that it’s ready for the enterprise. The work ahead is about getting proven capability into the hands of more operators, faster. That’s what APFIT was designed to do, and that’s exactly what Ditto will deliver.”

Awarded through the U.S. Air Force’s Business and Enterprise Systems Product Innovation (BESPIN) office, the contract extends Ditto and BESPIN’s initiatives supporting the Air Force Special Operations Command – giving USSOCOM the fastest available path from proven capability to enterprise-wide deployment.

About Ditto

Ditto is the software platform for unstoppable operations, keeping applications running regardless of connectivity across edge, server, and cloud. The company is dual-use by design: the same capabilities that power mission-critical applications for Fortune 500 companies also enable real-time coordination in disconnected and contested environments for public sector organizations.
