Trump Proposes Developing Florida Golf Course as Presidential Retreat
President Donald Trump has proposed developing one of his private Florida golf courses into a presidential retreat, drawing a comparison to Camp David.
Burlington Plattsburgh, VT, October 7, 2026 — President Donald Trump has reportedly proposed the development of one of his private golf courses located in Florida to serve as a presidential retreat. The proposal draws a comparison to Camp David, the official country retreat and training center of the President of the United States.
Details regarding the specific golf course identified for this potential development were not immediately available. Furthermore, the timeline for when this proposal was made public or the entity that reported the proposal was not provided in the available information.
The concept of a presidential retreat akin to Camp David would involve establishing a dedicated, secure location away from the capital for official duties, meetings, and relaxation for the sitting president. Camp David, located in Maryland, has historically served as a site for diplomatic negotiations, policy discussions, and family respite for numerous U.S. presidents.
The summary indicates that President Trump’s proposal aims to create a similar facility using private assets. The specific features, security arrangements, costs, and the exact nature of the development have not been disclosed. The contractor involved in any such development was not identified, nor were details about any permits or inspection outcomes provided.
The comparison to Camp David suggests an intention to provide a presidential working and resting space that offers privacy and functionality. However, without further details from the summary, it is not possible to ascertain the scope of the proposed development or its current status. The financial implications or any potential fines or code violations associated with such a project are also not mentioned in the provided information.
The individual or source that made public the proposal was not specified, and therefore, no direct quotes are available to elaborate on the president’s vision for this Florida retreat.
